Panel Discussion - Chesapeake Bay & Environmental Protections in MD (In Partnership with People&

Chesapeake Bay

The Chesapeake Bay, is the largest estuary in North America. More than 150 major rivers and streams feed the bay’s 64,299 square-mile drainage basin, covering parts of six states, New York, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia as well as Washington DC. Recent improvements in the Bay’s health appear to be under threat from the Trump Administration’s plans to do away with so many of the environmental laws designed to help keep our waters and natural resources clean. Will our governor do anything to help keep the Bay on track in its recent and fragile state of recovery? What will be the impacts of doing away with so many laws designed to keep our waterways clean? What can we do to help keep the Chesapeake on track with the recent trend towards better environmental health?
